I confess! I was spoiled. I didn't have a clue.
After many years in the comfort of an office with an assistant, I am on my own. I'm doing great with the work at home environment. I think I'm doing quite well with balancing all the new work projects I'm part of while handling the appropriate life things, too. (Tomato plants always watered. Laundry in pretty good shape).
But - some stuff is incredibly time consuming and very frustrating.
Calendars? I can't imagine what superhuman efforts my assistant made to book me from morning to night. I have handfuls of meetings each day and I have to go back and forth with people to get the day and time right. (And I haven't taken the time to learn to send or accept invitations, yet. I will.)
Travel? I'm doing pretty well using Kayak to find flights which I then book online. Car rentals aren't bad and it seems like the best rates are as a retiree of my company. Hotels - what a pain. How can you even find one near where you want to be?
I'm getting there. I have this incredibly talented technical support guy (me!!!) but he doesn't seem to prioritize most things high enough. Hard to get angry at myself when I know I'm making the right calls. Darn!
So - I am humbled. Donna, thanks for all your did and to all those who came before you.
